Kevin Fay (he/him/his & they/them) has a B.A. in Dance and Communication Studies from Northwestern University. During his time in Chicago, Kevin trained in dance at Northwestern, Hubbard Street Dance Center, and The Ruth Page Foundation School of Dance, where he performed with Civic Ballet of Chicago.
Since leaving Chicago, Kevin has danced with Dayton Ballet in Ohio and Dana Tai Soon Burgess & Company in Washington, D.C.. As a freelance artist in New York City, he performed and toured nationally and internationally with various artists and choreographers.
While in New York, Kevin also trained regularly with Janet Panetta, taught for the Brooklyn Music School, City Center/Ballet Academy East, and Joffrey Ballet School, and collaborated with Alexandra Wells on the Movement Invention Project at Baryshnikov Arts Centre. He also had the pleasure of working on new opera productions at The Metropolitan Opera (ch: Itzik Galili), Bard College SummerScape (ch: Marjorie Folkman), and Washington National Opera (ch: Ben Wright).
Kevin moved to Brussels, Belgium in 2016, and he works from there with Veli Lehtovaara, Éric Minh Cuong Castaing, Eleanor Bauer, Marc Vanrunxt, La Monnaie/De Munt, Olga de Soto, and Marco Berrettini. He also studies voice with Fabienne Seveillac and works independently as a writer, editor, administrator, and transcriber. In September 2020, Kevin received a scholarship from the Flemish Authorities to conduct a research project on the subjects of masculinity, feminism, language, and the body. With support from wpZimmer, C-Takt, BUDA, HONOLULU (FR), Tanzquartier Wien (AT), and the Impulstanz ATLAS program (AT), Kevin develops his ideas for choreography and offers open performative reading circles called 'conversing with masculinity'.
